Hello and welcome to my rambly 2024 ITPE letter! First off, I'd like to thank you for considering recording a podfic for me this year! This letter is long and very detailed at times, but I just want to say like...
This letter contains a lot of information. I don't mean to overwhelm, my intention is to give options and maybe even some inspiration for fic choice. I don't think there's any single fic that can fulfill like most or all of the things I'm asking for in a single fandom, and I don't expect there to be (this is not a challenge).
I want you to pick a fic that you enjoy recording. Maybe the pairing or a specific trope appealed to you, or the way the author writes humor or angst or highly detailed descriptions of machinery. I'd love to hear about the reasons for your choice in some freetalk if you're interested in that kind of thing, and bloopers are always welcome.
Things that I enjoy in general:
- I am a sucker for some good character development, especially filling in the gaps where canon is lacking. To me, a character study can be 800 words or 80000, just give me some insight into who they are, what they want, why they do things, etc.
- In terms of characters with superhuman powers, I like to see them test the limits of those powers, or use them in creative ways. Willing restraint of their powers, or "misuse" of their powers for sexual purposes is one of my favorite tropes -chefs kiss-
- Graphic depictions of sex or violence are both good
- SFW and NSFW are both equally good
- Explorations of sex, gender, and interpersonal relationships in a non-human context (robots, aliens, necromancers and lyctors - yes I am counting them as non-human)
- In stories with trans characters: dysphoria, transphobia and dealing with the fallout, gender euphoria, or just trans characters existing. It's all good with me.
- If a fic has a robot/android/non-human main character in it, I'm on board.
- Oddly specific but if I had a nickle for every time it happened to me, I'd have at least three nickles: romantic relationship between A and B, both incredibly skilled at what they do in different fields of study, where A is old enough to be B's mother, and both parties are cluelessly mutually pining.
- Tentacles/Consentacles!
- Filk! I know this is a podfic exchange but if you happen to be interested in creating filk as part of a podfic or independent of a podfic in one of the fandoms I've requested I would love to listen!

- I am stumbling into this fandom like five years late without starbucks, but I've been very much enjoying my time here (read: "ah shit, carboncopies read a book this year and now they cannot stop talking about it"😆) .
- For an idea of what I like, I've done a bunch of podfics with a variety of interesting tags.
- Yes to these: necrophilia, cannibalism, incest, fucked up power dynamics, very dubious consent, whump, hurt-no-comfort, major character death, gore, mental health bad times, suicide attempt/ideation, hate sex.
- Yes to these as well: Fix-it, missing scenes, character study, hurt/comfort, humor(!!), hijinks and shenanigans, sex pollen, character sees/experiences [mundane thing] for the first time, memes and puns.
- Underage: sexual content involving Harrow or Judith age 17 is ok with me.
- Improper Use of Flesh Magic / Necromancy
- Character study: Camilla, Harrow, Pyrrha, Judith, Ianthe, Jeannemary & Isaac
- Modern AUs that take elements of the canon characters' back stories and personalities and translate them to the modern setting. Such as fic in which Harrowhark has schizophrenia, fic involving mental health care/treatment for any character. Small things like Cam and Gideon being gym buddies.
- fic where Harrowhark examines her faith are very interesting to me. Losing faith in John as god-emperor, what does devotion to the Tomb look like in an awakened-Alecto world.
- On the topic of religion, I love a good blaspheme. There's something about very religious characters desecrating something they find/found sacred that's just -chef's kiss-
- T4T and Cav4Cav
- Trans characters (I'm looking at Gideon, Palamedes, Pyrrha, and Harrow specifically but tbh anyone is good) and fic that uses in-universe necro-wizardry to do interesting or even unique Gender things.
- DNW: pure fluff, John-centric fic, sexual content involving Nona, no M/M pairings in this fandom, please

Tropes/Tags/Characters/etc:
- I'm not super picky about pairings, but I do have a preference for characters from Transformers: Prime and The Transformers IDW Generation 1 (MTMTE/LL)
- Hijinks, crack treated seriously, missing scenes, and powerful emotional beats. Gen TF fic is excellent, ensemble fic is excellent.
- Explicit content is great, but absolutely not a requirement.
- This is asking for a lot of extra work, but I do love listening to multivoice podfics in this fandom
- DNW: the DJD, Tarn from Cyberverse, humanformers (unless it's a Swerve World scenario or similar - holoforms). Haven't seen Earthspark, War for Cybertron, or Rise of the Beasts.
Specific Continuities:
- Transformers: Prime, any pairing. But I am going to go off again about Arcee/Airachnid, the rare pair that shouldn't be such a rare pair imo. They have a history and beef and they could each kill the other one. Let them live their awful lesbian lives!
- Transformers One: I've seen it, there are some vague plot spoilers in this section. Let Megatron be a poet again jfc. Any fic that gives some more dimension to the main four characters, or any decepticons. The movie felt rushed to me so any fic that gives characters time to like… actually process any of the major reveals would be fantastic. I would love to see more of Elita One and/or Airachnid, they were fun.

- missing scenes, new adventures both exciting and mundane, robot stuff idk. I will literally listen to an entire podfic where all Murderbot does is talk about Sanctuary Moon, or whatever other media.
- I haven't read any Murderbot fic yet (with the exception of "your space station sucks and your vibes are rancid"😂) bc I'm worried about spoiling something for myself, so I will be happy for anything I receive in this fandom, if you choose to create it.
- I've only read through the end of Network Effect so no spoilers please for later books, thank you!

- VENOM THE THIRD AND FINAL FILM, IN THEATERS OCTOBER 24TH, I AM TOTALLY OK ABOUT THIS
- I'm not super familiar with the comics canon, but I'll take fic based in that universe as well.
- Found family feelings are great, domestic slice of life (see: the breakfast scene from Venom 2)
- Gimme a fic where they fight (to the near-death?to the inconvenience of everyone around them? while fighting bad guys???) and make up like the old married couple they are
- Anything that dives into their relationship. Deep or not too deep.
- This is a good fandom for interesting body horror and creative ways of having sex (ex. sharing a body, sex in very public places, “all the way through”), and I'm down for either or both of those things.
Secondary Fandoms:
Supergirl (TV 2015)🦸♀️💪✈️🗒️
Kara Danvers/Cat Grant, Kara Danvers/Lena Luthor
- I like the fic that feels like it could've been a missing scene or episode from the show, except, you know, like... more gay. I like fic that explores the power dynamics between the two characters, whether sexually or not sexually.
- Some prompts:
- getting taken apart and put back together again
- I don't remember if it was in canon or in fic where Kara flew to like France to get Lena's favorite chocolates, but I like that kind of energy.
- control-oriented person trusts someone else with that control entirely
- incredibly stubborn people learn how to be ok with being wrong, or how to compromise or ask for what they need
- DNW: Sanvers, I love Alex as a side character but she's not super interesting to me on her own. Might be difficult to do given the nature of canon, but I'd appreciate avoiding fics where prison or incarceration is a plot point (ie no "casefic" crime procedural stuff where everything leads up to locking up the bad guy, no fic that utilizes the DEO's secret prison). I can clarify further if needed.

- There are a lot of excellent fics in this fandom about trans characters, and I love that.
- statement fic! go wild!
- A anything with canon-typical weirdness, violence, major character death is all fine and encouraged.
- no real preference for pairings at this time. I'm burnt out on Jon/Martin though, and not a huge fan of pure fluff here.

- The "oops, we touched an artifact, hijinks ensued" fics are great, and love confessions after x amount of years spent pining.
- I think some of the artefacts fic writers come up with are really neat, any additions to the worldbuilding really. It's kinda sparse out there.
- Canon is a great example of "cool idea, piss-poor execution" on many levels and I believe the fandom is acutely aware of this. There are many many fix-it fics where the fans saw obvious subtext (I can't even say that, it's TEXT) and made the obvious conclusions. That being said, I really love the fics where Myka turns the car around and goes back for one more visit after that awful goodbye.
Mass Effect Trilogy 👽🌌🔫🛰️
Jack | Subject Zero/Miranda Lawson, femslash in general.
- In terms of tropes, enemies to lovers or "it's the end of the world, might as well bang" is fun. Character studies, anything where these two get to process their trauma, or scream at each other in a cathartic way... EXCELLENT.
- hijinks, miscommunication (it's a big ship, lot of people), humor, what do they all do during shore leave?
- in-universe stuff preferred. canon divergent is fine but no AUs or crossover fic.
Young Wizards series - D Duane ✨🗽🌌📖
Gen preferrably.
- Fics that feel like they could be missing scenes or stories within canon. Also any of the cats, I love all the cat wizards.
- Note: I've only read the series through the end of Wizards Holiday, no spoilers for the last few books, please.
